A little history...
In 1980, four families pooled their money and bought a small A-frame cabin in Truckee, California, minutes from Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe.
For 15 years the friends shared ski weekends, summers at the lakes and many wonderful memories. By 1995, the four family's kids had grown, gotten married, and had their own kids, and everyone realized it was time to part ways with the little A-frame cabin.
Our family, (The Fitzs), bought a new vacation home just up the road from the A-frame, and "The Fitz Inn" was christened on Labor Day 1995. For nearly 20 years more, we enjoyed many memories with family and friends in that wonderful vacation home.

In 2016, we (Nancy & Mark) relocated to New England, and we wanted to continue the legacy of fun times with family and friends... this time on beautiful Cape Cod. And after a few years of saving and dreaming, our wonderful little beach cottage became a reality. We just HAD to name it "The Fitz Inn on Cape Cod." For 3 glorious summers we enjoyed The Fitz Inn on Cape Cod.
2020 brought us back to California, and it was time to find the perfect site for the next Fitz Inn...
We found our bliss at Blue Lake Springs in Arnold, and we are so excited to share our home with you! We hope you settle in and create lifelong memories with your families while you're here!

Hi! We're Mark & Nancy, the owners of The Fitz Inn.
Longtime California residents, we love that we can visit the beach in the morning and the mountains in the afternoon in our beautiful state! Mini, our 15-year-old chihuahua, is the light of our lives. TV and video professionals by day, Golden State Warrior fans by night. And when there's no game, you likely will find us in a local theater enjoying a musical or play, or at home on the couch watching a STAR WARS or HARRY POTTER film (for the millionth time). We hope you enjoy staying at our home in Blue Lake Springs as much as we do!
